For several years I worked abroad as an architect in Switzerland and Sweden. Knowledge about the craftmanship in Swiss architecture and the natural materials used in Scandinavian architecture with an intriguing focus on daylight has given me inspiration that’s usable in my design process. After returning to The Netherlands I had the opportunity to work at Benthem Crouwel Architects. At this leading architecture firm I was part of the Tender Team and worked on several projects like Busplatform Den Haag and Station Delft Zuid. Thereafter, in 2018, was the start of my own architecture office.
As an architect my intention is to design buildings that have a low impact on the environment and are made of natural, biobased materials. A building should respect its context and therefore a careful analysis of the location is necessary. Composition, spatiality, daylight and sightlines are important in my work. Listening carefully to the clients wishes and trying to imagine myself as the user of the building results in unique, personalized designs. My aim is to create spaces that make the users curious, and connexts them with their surroundings.
