Biobased private housing – Studio Jet Tillmann – 2022

Location
The location has a unique green view. To respect the surrounding buildings, the shape of the two flexible houses will be traditional with a slanted roof, but with a modern appearance and materiality.

Concept
The client is a landscape designer. Therefore it is very important to make a connection between landscape and building (biophilic design). To accomplish this the building has a green patio in the length of the building. It refers to small plants that can grow through asphalt. It shows the power of nature, the plants break the traditional building shape. The patio is like a green connector for the building and will be visible in every space of the house.

Biobased  
The construction is made of CLT, insulated with wood fiber, a green roof and partly green facades (patio facade). The facade will be made of rammed earth in a red/orange color. The patio will be clad with re-used bricks from the shed that is currently located at the site. Different types of bricks can be used for the patio, which gives reliëf that fits well with the concept of nature growing through the building.
